Belgrade, Nov. 18, 2018

The Embassy of the Sovereign Order of Malta wanted to participate actively in the “World Day of the Poor” through its initiative dedicated to the marginalized and elderly people, affirming in this way the millennial charism of the Order “Obsequium Pauperum” (“Assistance to the poor”) and its constant commitment in favor of people in need of  medical assistance and of living a life of dignity, both at an international level and in Serbia. 

Ambassador Alberto di Luca, accompanied by the Director of the “Make a WISH” Project, prof. Nenad Prokic and the Embassy employee Tamara Jovanovic Slavinski,  has visited the “Shelter for the Elderly and Homeless” which hosts people with social and economic difficulty.

The board of the “Shelter for the Elderly and Homeless” has asked the Embasssy for some medical equipment necessary for the improvement of medical care. This is the first important direct contact we are going to develop in the future, according to the Cooperation Agreement signed by the Ambassador di Luca and the Deputy Director of the Center Ms. Mirjana Jolici
