The visit to Milan of Grand Master Frà Matthew Festing

In the Duomo of Milan the Grand Master Frà Matthew Festing prays in front of the relic of San Carlo Borromeo.
From 22 to 24 October, the Grand Master Frà Matthew Festing – accompanied by Grand Chancellor, H.E. Jean Pierre Mazery; the Ambassador to Italy, the Baron Giulio di Lorenzo Badia; and the Director of the Communications Department of the Grand Magistry, Dr. Eugenio Ajroldi of Robbiate – went to Milan where he was welcomed by the delegate of the Order for Lombardy, Baron Guglielmo Guidobono Cavalchini; Ambassadors of the Order at Malta, Umberto Di Capua; at the Serbia, Alberto di Luca; and at the Kenya, Prince Augusto Ruffo di Calabria; for an intensive programme of institutional meetings and religious events, social and cultural.

The Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore awarded the Grand Master Festing with the international Matteo Ricci and he gave a speech followed by an in-depth academic debate full of questions and answers with the number of students involved at the solemn ceremony.

The Grand Master then gathered in prayer during the Mass celebrated in the crypt of the Basilica of St. Ambrogio, and in the Duomo Cathedral where he also venerated the remains of St. Charles Borromeo held in Scurolo Crypt, visiting successively the Ambrosian library, the Basilica of Santa Maria delle Grazie and Leonardo’s last supper.
After meeting the Delegatizio Council, chaplains and a large representation of Dame and Brother of the Order, Grand Master Festing ended his important visit by going to the Sacra Famiglia in Cesano Boscone
