On Thursday, April 18th, H.E. President Aleksandar Vučić received at the Presidential Palace in Belgrade the Ambassador Francesco Maria Amoruso for the presentation of the Letters of Credence.
President Vučić warmly greeted the new Ambassador, wishing him a successful and pleasant work and stay, confident that efforts will be made to further enhance the good and friendly relations and to intensify cooperation, especially in the humanitarian field.
Ambassador Amoruso expressed gratitude to President Vučić for his warm words and conveyed greetings from the Grand Master Fra’ John Dunlap. He mentioned that the Order of Malta, with its “humanitarian diplomacy,” operates in 112 countries and the European Union, holds permanent observer status at the United Nations, and is accredited with numerous international organizations.
Amoruso also recalled the many humanitarian initiatives that the Order of Malta has carried out in Serbia and announced that further interventions will be implemented in the coming months.
The cordial meeting was attended by the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dačić, President’s Advisor for Foreign Policy Tatjana Jović, and the Commander of the Serbian Army Guard Zeljko Furundzic.
As Ambassador Amoruso bid farewell, President Vučić suggested reconvening for further discussions in the future.
