Belgrade, Jan 17, 2017

In addition to the constructive meeting of the Grand Hospitaller of the Sovereign Order of Malta, H.E. Prince Dominique de la Rochefoucauld-Montbel and the Serbian Minister of Health, H.E. Zlatibor Loncar, held in Belgrade on the 8. December 2016, today there was the first working reunion presided by the State Secretary of the Minister of Health, Prof. Dr. Vladimir Dukic on one side, and the Ambassador of the Sovereign Order of Malta Alberto di Luca with the Project Manager Professor Nenad Prokic on the other, in order to define the mode and programme details of the project “Make a WISH to the Sovereign Order of Malta 2017”.

After significant results achieved in the year 2015 and 2016, this year the Project Make a WISH will provide the surgical operations in private hospitals for the difficult medical cases that can’t be resolved in the country in a timely manner due to the long waiting lists in the public hospitals with the financial aid of the Embassy of the Sovereign Order of Malta. The other cases will be taken care by a team of foreign doctors that will be sent to Belgrade for the purpose  or, for cases of more complexity, the giving of medical care to the patiens in a foreign country.

During the meeting, marked out with the great friendly collaboration and the distinguished bilateral relations between the Sovereign Order of Malta and Serbia, the course of the talks was on the value of priority of severe illness and the discussion on the time needed to pass from the moment of informing the Embassy to the arrival of particular surgical expert.

All the details of the Make a WISH project can be found in the “Rule book 2017”.
