Izvor, May 5th
Within the project “Make a WISH to the Sovereign Order of Malta”, organized again this year by the Embassy of the Order of Malta to the Republic of Serbia, a lot of WISHES have been received: some requests with a certain utility, some necessary and some urgent.
It is the case for the home for mentally disabled people of the monastery of the Serbian Orthodox Church St. Petka, in the village of Izvor. The center is run by 20 nuns who are guided by the tireless passion and dedication of Sister Gliterija, who asked years ago, and waited in vain, for an electrocardiograph needed to ensure the safety and health of their 92 girls, and check if someone should be in urgent need of hospital care or assistance from a doctor who works for the center.
And so, less than a month ago, the urgent request for an electrocardiograph has arrived at the Embassy in Belgrade.
Fast help has materialized today with the delivery of the medical equipment required.
Among the WISHES delivered there were also medical devices for determining the concentration of glucose in the blood, and more common but equally useful for the care of the girls, electric trimmers and products for personal and environmental hygiene.
The next WISH in the works is for the donation of an ambulance.
