In Belgrade, Nis and Podgorica, the celebrations of the Orthodox Church for the 1700th anniversary of the Edict of Milan
In the presence of the highest civil and religious representatives of Serbia and Montenegro, took place from the 4th to the 8th of October in Nis, birthplace of Emperor Constantine, and Podgorica, capital of Montenegro, the solemn celebrations organized by the Serbian and Montenegrin Orthodox Church to commemorate the 1700th anniversary of the Edict of Milan.
The Grand Master of the Sovereign Order of Malta, Fra ‘Matthew Festing, invited by the Patriarch of the Serbian Orthodox Church, H.H. Irinej, was unable to attend due to an official visit abroad, and has designated the Ambassador of the Sovereign Order to the Republic of Serbia, Mr. Alberto di Luca, to represent him.
