Izvor, October 14th
Such a beautiful setting, consisting of the Fourteenth century monastery, can only accommodate a reality of love and dedication to the 92 disabled girls housed in the center of Izvor of the monastery St. Petka, run by Orthodox Nuns led by the tireless Mother Superior Sister Glikerija.
The health conditions of the girls housed in the center require rapid intervention for even the slightest problem. That is why having its own ambulance – and not having to rely on the nearest hospital, at 30 kilometers of distance- is a necessity.
One of the first WISHES expressed by the Mother Superior was for an ambulance. In a simple ceremony yet full of emotions and fraternal friendship, the long-awaited vehicle, was delivered, the Mother Superior and the Director of the Center, right on the holiday of St. Petka, Ambassador Alberto di Luca, together with the Secretary of the Embassy, Luca Marzocco, and the Manager of the project “Make a WISH to the Sovereign Order of Malta“, Prof. Nenad Prokic, in the presence of religious and civilian authorities.
