Saint Paul de Vence (France), Dec 17, 2017
This year as well with the Christmas at the doorstep, we can feel a cold Balcan winter reminding us of difficulties that many children face to have an adequate meal.
The Embassy of the Sovereign Order of Malta in Serbia, wanted again to give support to the Shelter for Children in Belgrade through the Project “A hot meal in a cold winter“. So this winter will be less „cold“ for many children, as the Ambassador Alberto di Luca and Prof. Nenad Prokic promised to the Director Mrs. Danijela Stajkovic in November.
The Shelter for Children takes care, for 59 years, of the most sensitive categories of young people coming from all over Serbia, aged 7 to 18, some of whom are victims of violence, abuse and neglecting, in some cases victims of human trafficking, children deprived of parental care and street children.
In order to support this humanitarian project this year as well, the spouses Ruggieri have organized in Saint Paul de Vence in France Cocktail-Concert-Dinner, attended by many friends from France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Principality of Monaco, and Switzerland. During the evening, the guests appreciated the performance given by the established artists Nina Karmon, an enchanting violinist from Germany and Denis Omerovic, a brilliant guitarist from Sarajevo.
Thanks to generosity of people present at the dinner – either physically or virtually – we will be able to support The Shelter until the spring 2018.
